Sporting Restaurant du Golf Crans-Montana
The Sporting is a mythical entity in Crans-Montana, and the new manager’s wish was to give it a new lease of life for the decades to come, while preserving the soul of the place and even strengthening it. The restaurant is also the Club house of the Crans-Montana Golf Club, where the Omega Master de Golf takes place once a year.
The restaurant area has been redesigned to give direct access to the terrace, and the flooring and soundproofing have been redesigned. An adjoining intermediate zone serves as a restaurant, reception area, awards ceremony or private dancefloor party.
The last area has been redesigned as a chill-out zone, with Chesterfiel sofas, a large TV screen and cosy elements so that customers can enjoy watching a golf tournament on screen as much as the Ski World Cup. A pool table has also been installed for guests’ relaxation and competition.
The bar has also undergone a facelift, and a back bar has been created. All the lighting has been redesigned, from ceiling-mounted spotlights to unique, warm wall lamps, all on dimmers to create different moods.
A wallpaper was also designed especially for the venue, representing its symbols and spirit, and affixed to the pillar and front of the bar. The walls are decorated with hand-painted paintings of Omega Master winners.
To make the space even warmer, curtains have been custom-sewn in a selection of fabrics ranging from linen for the restaurant area to “Burberry” for the chill out/billiard area.
The two outside terraces have also been reworked. The lakeside terrace has been entirely converted into a lounge/reception area with large wooden sofas, cushions, sound system and lighting. The terrace overlooking the 18-hole golf course has been wooded and shaded using a system of parasols forming a single canvas, or divided into separate areas with wood panelling on the ground to give it a warm feel. In both areas, the walls were sandblasted and varnished to give them a new, authentic look.
