Buffet de la Gare – Sierre

The managers wanted to give their restaurant a new lease of life, while retaining the “Buffet de la gare / Brasserie” spirit. The managers’ only request: no civil engineering work.

So we focused on lighting, decoration, furniture and the bar, creating a bespoke stainless steel back bar.

The lighting combines modernity and authenticity, with luminaires selected by zone and dimmable via dimmers.

At the back of the restaurant, we imagined and created a large wall clad in Metro tiles, reminiscent of the walls in old brasseries. It is embellished with stickers to highlight the values of the site. We also decided to give it a functional side, so that we could keep track of the week’s menus.

The bar area was refurbished with tiles and wood, and a stainless steel back bar was custom-made. Custom-made shelves were created in collaboration with a carpenter and locksmith to decorate the hall’s pillars.

An aperitif and work area has also been custom-designed, with wood and powder-coated steel furniture, varnished wood worktops and electrical outlets for charging computers and cell phones.

The outside terrace has been planted to provide natural coolness in summer, and the furniture has been redesigned to optimize space and add warmth and conviviality to this Sierre landmark. A “Guinguette”-style lighting system has also been designed to add even more charm to summer evenings.

Everything has been designed and fitted out so that the passing customer who settles in for a few minutes feels as comfortable as the one who wants to eat or work between 2 connections or 2 appointments.
